Volunteering at St. Michael School

Volunteering is a way to give back to God the best that we have, in thanksgiving for all He's given us. This includes utilizing our earthly possessions, skills, resources, time, and energies to promote the message of the Gospel.

On a pragmatic level, your volunteer efforts help keep the tuition at St. Michael School (SMS) down, by allowing a portion of the school's operating budget to be met through fundraising and by offsetting building, property, and technology maintenance costs through your donated time. On a less tangible, but equally important level, your donated time and energies help build a sense of community among school, parents, and students. Interaction between and among our parents builds relationships and strengthens the SMS community.

Why Volunteer?
So in summary, here are a few reasons to seriously considering volunteering at St. Michael School:

• Share your skills in thanksgiving for the gifts God has given you
• Help keep tuition costs down
• Help maintain and improve the school infrastructure (i.e., grounds, building, technology)
• Help build a sense of community

So, you don't think you have a "skill" that the school needs? Well, think again. We all have God given skills and most all of them are needed by St. Michael School. Here are just a few examples of skills needed by SMS:

ﾷ        Organizational	ﾷ        Reading/Storytelling	ﾷ        Graphic design (e.g., Photo Shop or Paint Shop Pro experience)
ﾷ        Motivational	ﾷ        Finance or Accounting	ﾷ        Digital video/audio production
ﾷ        Marketing	ﾷ        Trade (carpentry, electrical, plumbing, roofing, HVAC, CATV, Telephone, etc.)	ﾷ       Public Safety and Disaster Management
ﾷ        Arts & Crafts	ﾷ        Computer networking
ﾷ        Musical	ﾷ        Computer applications (e.g., Office applications, including MS-Access database)

 In addition to skills, SMS is very interested in any resources (e.g., donated equipment, office supplies, and building materials) that you or your place of employment may be able to make available to the school.
